About Us

The Ghana National Association of Authors and Publishers is a trade association registered under the Registrar General of Ghana with Registration number CG061340922 and is Limited by Guarantee.

The Association is established to bring together right holders of literary works in particular and books in general in General and in the diaspora to promote the interest of authors and publishers in Ghana and in the diaspora, preserve national culture through book development, create a common voice for authors and publishers, partner local and international institutions to promote the works of members, motivate and drive excellence in the book industry through ongoing professional development and award schemes, attend conferences and share industry based insights and tit bits among members, partner state and private institution to promote literacy and reading, foster solidarity among members among several other aims.

The Association which started with only six members now boasts of over eighty members of right holders across Ghana. Our Current membership includes poets, playwrights, prose and fiction writers, movie script writers, authors of textbooks, authors of supplementary materials and publishers. Among our membership are renowned essayist, researchers and professors who have contributed to the knowledge society through research and writing.
